I'll write this review specially for those potential readers who might be interested in buying the whole series now that this hardcover collection is completed. When I'm in a situation like that, about to invest a good chunk of money in a complete series I worry about its ending, is it worthy? Is it proper? What do long time fans think about it? Did they got let down?So having reading and re-reading Preacher for many years now, let me assure you that this series ends on the MOST GLORIOUS high note. Preacher starts with a bang, never lets you down and finishes just perfectly. It's a long read, but fear not because it's worth to the very end. You can really tell Garth Ennis had his endgame in sight from the begining just by reading these final issues.And at the end of the road you will not only be rewarded with a long run of blasphemy, explosive laughs, senseless exploits, serious reflection, more blasphemy, bitter tears, even more blasphemy and tears of joy. You will also be rewarded with a sense of FRIENDSHIP and PARDNERSHIP (yeah, with a "D", pilgrim!) so profound and so relevant that it will scare you. Because you won't be able to believe, you won't be able to accept that this was fiction and that those were characters that you were reading. Because by the time you turn the last page you will know deep down that Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy are your friends for life.NOW A WORD OF WARNING ABOUT THE EDITION:While Ennis & Dillon's Preacher series is 5-stars, this editions is maybe 3-and-a-half stars, so I decided to average my overall score in 4 stars. This Hardcover collection sure has its flaws. They have glued binding.
