The Lost Books Of The Bible: The Real Apocrypha
Ebooks Online

The books of the Apocrypha were part of the Bible until the late 1800's and their true place in scripture is not only virtually unknown to the entire Christian world, but an intellectual and spiritual subterfuge. One of the best kept theological secrets is that the Bible used by the modern Protestant Church is not the original King James Bible, only half of the original Books of the Apocrypha are in the Catholic Bible, and the Apocrypha fills a 400 year chronological gap missing from that Bible. The Real Apocrypha reveals the true history of those books and their presence throughout the historical record of the Christian church, and includes the text of those books, in their entirety. The missing translator's documents, originally in the King James Bible, and an extensive comparison of the Apocryphal books to the current scriptures in the Bible are also included.

I'm always seeking more in my quest for God and His kingdom. I had heard about the Apocrypha for years, so I decided to get a copy.I found the reading interesting and inspiring, but I also noted some problems. When I'm reading a reference book that is citing multiple sources, I expect to find a detailed list of those citations. This book has zero. Lost Books has many interesting examples and quotes, but they are not properly substantiated, as one would expect of a book that is claiming so much validity. I need a lot more proof with properly cited references. I could throw out quotes from some long-forgotten church patriarch, too. But, without a proper citation, I could be making the whole thing up, as well -- right? Mr. Cooke, where'd you get those facts and quotes? Off the Internet?Another problem that I found were many typos throughout the book. When I find multiple typos in a publication, I begin to question the professionalism of the publisher. I have run across publishers that don't even know the difference between a dash and a hyphen. They're out there -- all kinds of publishers are out there. When I begin to doubt the editors and publishers of a particular book, it only makes me think that that publisher will publish anything without regard to the validity of the "facts."So, as interesting as this book seems, and as inspiring as some of the writings may be, I need substantiated citations to help me believe the claims in this book. Because the book is so poorly cited, it only makes me doubt.

This is a very good book that is so fascinating that you will not be able to put it down. Very informative and loaded with all the books that were banned from the Bible. A must have for those who want to start a library of material that is very information filled on the search for the truth.

First of all, as a Kindle book, this book fails to meet any standard whatsoever: it doesn't even have a table of content, so you can't navigate by book, chapter, and verse. Unless you plan on reading the apocrypha from cover to cover with the compiler's notes (i.e. rather than looking up particular verses of interest) this Kindle book will be a pain.Secondly, this compiler's introduction is less than honest. Rather than truthfully presenting apocrypha as the lesser books among the holy works (stories which in the main support he Scripture but are not considered Scripture, either because of their late date of authorship, etc.), this compiler sets up a false dichotomy of total acceptance of the apocrypha and their total rejection (perhaps in a manner like the gnostic gospels), and uses that false dichotomy to paint the Church as acting deceitfully in the manner of men of the world, not of God. I do not believe this presentation of this compiler is accurate.

Everyone needs to read this. It will reveal truths no one wants known and I think that is why it was removed from the Bible. No fear of what God said about removing his words or adding to them!
