This looks like a good thorough grammar book, but we ended up not using because on looking through it, it was very easy for 4th Grade. Also, my daughter hated it. The exercises were boring and uninteresting and just didn't hold her attention at all. I groaned looking at the exercises myself. Instead, we have switched to GrammarPunk which is more interactive and has more interesting sentences. My daughter's first words on looking at the book: It looks like 1st Grade grammar.

I get these books to help my 4th grader with her homework. I'm learning side by side with her. It's humbling how much I don't know and how much I learn. It helps me to be a better teacher. Read it on your own and then help your child with her homework. Money well spent

I agree with the reviews that this is easy - but - that's in the title, right? They exercises are quick & clear. The method is very simple and concise. Grade 4, so far, is a lot of repeat of 3. This is very good for my son who's 15 and an English-language learner. I'm very pleased with it.My daughter tried this - she's an English speaker who reads a lot. She found it petty and boring. It wasn't for her. She went back to slogging through her Rod & Staff curriculum which is very traditional, with lots of sentence diagramming. That's what she prefers, something a bit meatier and intense.

My son struggled to do his language so we switched to this. It has been so much better for him. He struggles with writing and usually becomes very frustrated with it. This curriculum has less writing and is more to the point.

My son had finished his grammar program for the year early (late Feb) and I purchased this to use as a review for the rest of the year. It's working great, is a good review program & I can see where it would be very effective as a primary grammar curriculum. The lessons flow from one to the other and build upon previous lessons. A great find for us!

Love this. Very easy way to teach grammar. This is my second year teaching using this book. If you have a question, you can actually speak to the author personally. I was really impressed with that.

We also used this book for our homeschool, and I like the way it addresses each topic. It is thorough, but it is very easy. By this I mean that there is a hint in each section's directions that gives away which word it is that you are looking for in that section. So, it is rarely necessary to actually remember what the (for example) direct object is, since there is often a "reminder" right in the directions. I realized that they were completing the assignments without really learning the information. Now, I am teaching each unit to them and making sure they have learned the material BEFORE using the exercises to ensure that they can apply the information.
