This book is a very well written, comprehensive study guide for three Strata exams: Exam FCO-U41 (US/Global), Exam FCO-U11 (UK only), and Exam FCO-U21 (UK only). So if you're interested in any of these three exams, this is definitely the book to study.The book moves through all the objectives in a logical order: hardware, software, peripheral devices, networking, maintenance, troubleshooting security, and power-efficient personal computing, etc. There's a lot of information because it covers the material for the US and the UK, and, regarding this, it also includes IT related laws as they apply to the UK. My personal opinion is the more information the better. You can always pick up something new by looking at the same information written for a different audience. After all, their computers are the same as our computers, so how can you go wrong?A very good feature of CompTIA Strata Study Guide is that each chapter includes practical exercises and a 20-question exam to test your progress. The practical exercises get you involved with the material in a way that helps you remember what you've just read. To me, that's a big plus. There's nothing like getting behind the wheel to stir up the old gray matter. Plus, the authors include exercises for using Mac and Linux machines. The end-of-chapter questions are fair and track the material in the chapter. No trick questions here. The authors aren't trying trip you up. I thought their questions were fair and just what was needed to review the material. There's a CD in the back cover that contains practice exams, electronic flashcards, and Adobe Reader. In other words, there's plenty of study aides to get you through the exams.
