This collection of four connected short stories work together to make a delightful novella. It lovingly takes the reader through the hero's genuine grief for his deceased wife, his love for his two daughters to the point where he's able to truly see the light at the end of his tunnel and admit his growing feelings for the girl who's been working as their nanny. There's nothing heavy handed about presenting the differences in the way of life for an Amish individual and an "Englischer," a non-Amish person. The Amish glossary given is very helpful and makes a good reference when reading other Anish novels. Not to mention the delicious sounding recipes included. Highly recommended, as are all the books I've so far read of Susette Williams.
Sometimes the answer to our prayers is right under our noses, and we're too distracted by other things to see it. I'm so grateful that God eventually steps in with people or circumstances to draw our attention to His answer. If we then refuse to see it we often forfeit a wonderful blessing. Lord, please always give me another shake. Jedediah and Eliza needed that little shake to help them realize their blessing. Loved the story.
A short, light, easy to read book. Jebediah, widower, was told he needs to find a wife to bring up his two young girls. Eliza has been so good at tending to the girls and the house. Eliza goes out to find a potential wife for Jebediah. You will have to read to find out the solution. Great recipes included.
I give 5 stars to this short novelette. In this sweet story the young lady gives so much of herself it is easy for her boss to just expect her to always be there. The majority of romance novels I have read the couple's are looking for some spectacular fireworks shooting through the sky as they fall in love at first sight. This story is of old friends that must be nudged a little to see they should be married. It is clean and fun to read story. I look forward to reading the next one in the series.
It's funny how some things are right before your eyes that would make your life easier, but often times you do not see them. This is the case for Jebediah and Eliza. Jebediah is a widower and is raising his 2 little girls. His friend Eliza has been helping out, cleaning house, cooking and sometimes staying after dark until he gets home. When the bishop pressures him to find a wife and mother for his children and to help keep Eliza's reputation in good-standing, Eliza helps him try and find a suitable wife. You will have to buy the book to see what happens in the cute light-hearted fun book. It held my interest from the beginning. Another great job, Susette Williams! Can't wait to read the sequel. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great job.I really liked the character of widower Jebediah. His wife has passed giving birth to his son leaving him two little girls to raise without there mamm. Has to hire someone to come in and help him with the girls. The bishop has called him in to have a talk with him. Now what could he have done? Get the book it is very good if you like stories of the Amish and sweet romance you will like this. Susette Williams is a wonderful writer I enjoy her books.I was given this book to me by the author for my own opinion.
This is a light easy read. It is a short story about not seeing what is right there under your nose until it almost too late. Jebidiah lost his wife in childbirth two years earlier. He still grieves and is furious when the Bishop suggests it is time to take a new wife. He is happy with his life as it is. He has two sweet daughters who are tended during the day by his dead wife's friend Eliza. When Eliza finds out about the Bishop's request, she sets out to help him find the perfect wife. In the end he does but not without some twists and turns.I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Such a sweet story. Though short it is full of story. Wondered if that widow's husband, that he visited to see about marrying, put up with her acting like she acted toward Jebediah and his children? Not so short you feel like you finished before you began, I really liked the part where the man was explaining about a little girl, her dolls, and her life dreams, when he talked to Jebediah. The ending. awe, it was so sweet.I liked that it wasn't filled with Amish faith like some. Received this book free, in exchange for an honest review.
