Beautiful illustrations! I teach a kid's Kung fu class and we've been using this story as well as Li Jian's Water Dragon in the class. We build obstacle courses to be like the different tasks the Little Mondey encounters on his journey to find the Immortal One. The story adds a fun twist to the physical aspect of the Kung fu class.
Very nice adaption from the original story! I grew up reading and watching 'The Journey West'. It's a great story and I want 4 year old son to learn about it. But it's too complicated and some parts of the story is hard for a pre-schooler to understand. This book came in handy. He gets to know the character, the famous 72 transformation, and other cool tricks he can relate to. Can't wait to order other books by the same author!
No pinyin. Good story, even if you don't read Chinese it's still a good enough to hold my three year old daughter's attention.Only complaint is the the book was slightly bowed out when it arrived.
This has become my 3 year old's new favorite book. It's great!
