Peanuts sources are readily available (the Peanuts wikia, gocomics.com, Fantagraphics books and ebooks—of course, the Seth-designed books, like this one here, as well as the lovely boxed sets, are the best choice), so anyone can become a Schulz scholar using the primary materials. I have found the two ends of the Peanuts nearly 50 year spectrum of great interest. The first few years are full of experiments, including parental voices from off-panel, cluttered house interiors and outside scenes (one intriguing strip (May 22, 1955) has C. Brown playing baseball in an outfield that is a wavy wreck), a continued story running about 4 straight Sundays (Lucy in a golf tournament, with adult legs depicted), Charlie Brown as a love object, etc., plus many variations-on-a-theme comics (basically, the same "punch line" worked in a slightly different way each time, sometimes only very slightly different). For anyone who knows Peanuts from the mid-1960s on, it is clear that the young artist is trying things out, straightening things out, putting forth some ideas to see what works. When Schulz settles into the classic Peanuts period (oh, say from the middle/late 1960s on into the early 1980s), he has pared everything down to size, and no longer requires excess—the strip becomes the equivalent of any "classical period" art, with harmony, balance, and order at work. But still the libido, the hormonal charges, of the mature male—and this only becomes apparent when one savors the late and very late Schulz of the 1990s. Here is the settled sentiment of the Master completely at home, serene, above and far from the Maddening Crowd of youth, and of child-making and -rearing ages. The most grandfatherly touch of all is Rerun, the third sibling after Lucy and Linus. For Prospero to have conjured forth a unique and lovable character towards the end of his days was truly magic.

What Can I say Have every one of these Complete Peanuts books, A must if your a Charlie Brown Peanuts fan, well worth the bucks for sure. Only one more release and the set will be complete

I have the whole collection of peanuts books and love reading them. They make me laugh which I need from time to time. Charles Schulz was the best!

A must for any Peanuts collector, anyone who grew up reading Peanuts or for those too young to read them the first time. Peanuts will never get old.

Same high quality as volumes before, lots to think about as the final years of Peanuts approach.
