The Prophesy Answer Book by David Jeremiah is a handy sized reference book about the end times. I have listened to Dr. Jeremiah's CD series on the end times which I believe include several CDs with an overwhelming amount of information. I enjoyed this question and answer format of similar topics from the CDs yet with more concise and shortened versions of the answers to our Book of Revelation and end times questions. Its user friendly and easy to skip around to a question that would be most interesting to the reader. I used this book in my Sunday School class as a discussion starter and it worked very well for that. I respect the author and feel he is well qualified to give at the very least an educated guess in the answers he provides. I would recommend the book to use in several scenarios i.e. Small group discussions, explaining end times to children and teenagers, and as a quick reference guide.
David Jeremiah's The Prophecy Answer Book is a pocket sized gem. It is broken into 7 parts starting with Current Events, The Rapture, The Tribulation, The Antichrist, The Second Coming, The Millennium, and ending with The New Heaven and the New Earth.Each part has applicable questions concerning various aspects of end time prophecy and is answered in short, but satisfactory answers. While each reader's opinion will differ depending on their views concerning the Millennium, everyone will gain insight into this very touchy subject.A lot of books, including prophecy answer books, are bogged down in so much information that one can get easily lost. Jeremiah keeps his book in a readable format without losing the most important information that one needs for studying.While I don't necessarily agree with how easily he attributes current events to fulfilling prophecy, I do enjoy chewing on his thoughts and wrestling with his ideas though. Far too many people easily dismiss end times thoughts without considering the arguments and carefully studying scripture. I would rather engage Dr. Jeremiah's ideas and look at them through the lens of scripture before dismissing them.Overall, it is an accessible, easy to read answer book that is a great addition to any library of a student of scripture.
The Prophecy Answer Book by Dr. David JeremiahDavid Jeremiah handles this subject in a simplistic manner by making it digestable in bite size pieces for any person interested in Biblical Prophecy; you do not need to be a Bible scholar. The main topics of eschatology are Current Events, Rapture, Tribulation, Antichrist, Second Coming, Millennium, New Heaven & New Earth, Conclusion. The topical questions are what anyone pondering prophecy would ask themself. He uses scripture throughout his answers and takes the whole of the Bible to answer the question. He is not a date setter as to the date/time of the Second Coming but does explain where it fits in the Biblical Prophetic Timeline. He does not shy away from the topic of judgment and death. He clearly makes it known there will be a bodily resurrection for the believer as well as the non-believer. You have a free will to choose your eternal destination as God has clearly spoken that He wants no one to perish. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
This book is designed like a handbook or a FAQs guide and each chapter is set up as a question and answer format. There are several topics starting with current events and then go through all the main end times themes that you would expect: rapture, tribulation, antichrist, second coming, millennium, and the new heaven and new earth.It was easy to read and is a great start to a study of prophecy and end times. If you have not studied any end times themes then this book is perfect for you. It will give you a fantastic summary of all the topics.However, the format of the book left little room to answer the questions in depth. I recently completed a very in depth study of Daniel and so I already knew the answers to most of the questions and I was left wanting more on the topics.In the end, I was reminded that Satan is trying "to take as many people to hell with him as he can" (pg112), but because of my salvation through Jesus I can look to heaven despite all the suffering to come. "When you believe in Jesus Christ, you receive the free gift of eternal life and make your reservation in heaven" (pg 162). David Jeremiah's excellent book is a very uncomplicated guide to the end times as described in the Bible. These events are sometimes very complicated in certain books of the Bible and especially in Revelation. David Jeremiah has made this understanding very easy in this small book! This is really my second copy, as I sent this one to my oldest son. He had asked my opinion about the revealing of world events that are happening in Israel and Arab Countries now, and this book addressed all his questions. You won't be disappointed in this book!
