I bought this for my stepson when he was 9, and he has been going through it for a year. I bought it because he needed a Bible, and I did a lot of research to find the right one for him. I was looking for a Bible that was easy to read, but didn't detract too much from the original translation, and that haf study helps like my Spirit Filled Life Bible.I looked at a lot of Bibles, but chose the Adventure Bible because it had everything I was looking for! I really like this Bible. It's easy to read and the text is big enough for youngsters to read and follow (small text makes it hard to read it).It's filled with excellent study and learning features. It has brief book introductions, the "Let's Live It!" feature, which explains how to apply the Scriptures they read to their lives in way that's easy to understand, which I think is extremely important (helps them be doers of the Word, not just hearers) because when situations come up that might challenge their faith or beliefs, they can recall what they read and use it to make the right decision (helps them understand what would Jesus do). Plus the content is easy to relate to because it uses references to things important and relevant in a youngster's life. It also has tools that inform and educate about what life was like for Biblical characters ("Life in Bible Times" with illustrations) in Scripture in Bible times. It really aids in understanding the significance that God's working now just like He was in Abraham, Joseph, Jacob, Joshua's, and Moses' day. The other study tool is "Did You Know?" which tells about facts and interesting points in the Scriptures they just read.There is a generous concordance, index of key terms, a weight and measure table in the back as well.
