I fell in love with Angelina when I was young and the first book came out. I recently read Angelina Ice Skates and loved it as I did all the others. The Angelina books all teach a lesson, yet put the characters in situations that real children could end up in. In Angelina Ice Skates, Angelina and her friends are having trouble with some of the boys at the rink. Her mother gives her some advice and all works out in the end. The perfect length for a bedtime story, I would recommend this book for all children's libraries, especially little girls who want to be ballerinas.

My daughter loves the show Angelina Ballerina. I find the books more entertaining than the TV show. My daughter pays attention the entire time I read any of the Angelina Ballerina books. They teach wonderful social skills for young children. I look forward to the day when my daughter will read these same books by herself.

The review from my 5 year old daughter. "It's a little bit of everything, funny, friendship, interesting, and concerned. I really liked when Henry fell into the snow banks and then Angelina helped him up." This was a book assigned for her reading group and she really loved it.

In this next book in the Angelina Ballerina series, Angelina prepares for the New Year’s Eve Ice Dance. It’s a lovely pageant, but she repeatedly finds her practice interrupted by Spike and Sammy, two boys from the school. When she complains to her mother, Mrs. Mouseling explains that the two boys just want her attention. And so, Angelina forms a plan to include the two boys...Once again, I must say that Katherine Holabird sure knows how to write a wonderful story. I liked the lesson of the book, and my daughter and I both loved Helen Craig’s illustrations. We highly recommend this book to you.

In "Angelina Ice Skates", Angelina uses her creativity to rope in two mischievous mice, Spike and Sammy to participate in the New Year's Eve Ice Dance pageant. The illustrations by Helen Craig are beautiful and charming as always and enhance the story. The Angelina series of books are wonderful for preschoolers and up and will appeal to aspiring little dancers, those who love the charming stories of little mice inhabiting a fantasy world, and anyone who appreciate charming stories.

My daughter loved the Angelina books when she was a pre-schooler and continues to love them though she's now in 3rd grade. I love them because the stories are fun, have a nice message, and are beautiful. I particularly like this one because in it Angelina is skating and dealing with annoying boys. This means my daughter can imagine herself Angelina more easily than usual, since she does not take ballet but does skate and has a brother. Hooray for the branching out!

I dislike the portion of the story where the boys skate through and mess things up for their ice play and it is chalked up to boys being boys and just their way of saying they want to participate.

This was a gift for my grandchildren. They love Angelina and had recently been ice skating, so the book was an ideal gift.
