I got this book for my children, and children absolutely love it. It is not easy to find appropriate, inspiring and good language reading for boys, and this is one of fun readings for them. I totally recommend it for the boys who love adventure books.
The kids loved the Flat Stanley series of books. Great reading for kids in grades 2-3. Full of adventure and appropriate for kids. Highly recommend. Another series that the kids used to really love was the Nate the Great books. Check those out as well.
my son just started reading Flat Stanley, he is just entering 1st grade. from what i recall the description didnt specify the ages on these book. they are more along the 2nd-3rd grade level. no problem that just means we have to read them with him.
These are great books for a 2nd/3rd grade reading. Jeff Brown is a good author for this age. Keeps the attention of the reader and the length of them is good because they are about 80-100 pages. My 8 year old son read the whole series of these books and enjoyed everyone of them.
My son still rereads these books a year later. He read these as a first grader initially and now still reads all of the flat stanley books he can get his hands on. Great for a first time chapter book to get kids into reading as well as to teach geography of the world while having fun doing it.
it was hard to find a series of books that my son would read, he just wasn't that interested until we found Flat Stanley - he loves these stories and has stuck with the series. Although I prefer physical books, he loves getting e-books so that's what we do as a treat!

I like this book because it is written very well! This book has great pictures. I like how Stanley is so small and he fit in envelopes. The illustrator, Macky Pamintuan, is a stupendous and funny drawer. These pictures in this book are very bright. The pictures allow me to use context clues to make me understand the book.
