Cute lift the flap story, nothing special. But keep in mind this is NOT an original Corduroy story. Corduroy has apparently left Lisa to buy his own home with a rag tag group of stuffed animals. I miss Lisa in the stories. I miss Corduroy's old face too... guess he is big time now and had work done.Does not live up to the original Corduroy books.
This arrived in a timely fashion. Upon receiving it, I was disappointed that the book was not written by the original author but that was my oversight. The book is interesting and has little flaps that a child can open and close to discover what is hidden beneath.
As with all of the Corduroy Lift the Flap books (Easter, Christmas, Beach, Halloween, Firehouse, Zoo, Birthday--no longer in print, and Library), this one rates 5 stars......and we own them all! These rate as our absolute favorites in our book collection. The text is not lengthy and the flaps keep my two 1/2 year olds hands busy enough for me to read the text before he is on to the next page. For this reason, they were the only books we read for a long time. The illustrations are fantastic! The story takes you on the course of Corduroy's day-- packing for the beech, finding a spot in the sand, taking a swim, flying a kite, getting ice cream and going on rides on the boardwalk, and looking for treasures in the sand. Enjoy!
He has fun with everything he does and always manages an happy ending. This particular adventure is particularly appropriate for our granddaughter who lives in Florida as she goes to the beach on weekends. I would recommend this to anyone with small children and especially if they are taking a beach trip.
This was purchased and shipped to my grandson who is a super big Corduroy fan. I know he has been enjoying it immensely with the help of his Mom and Dad. He has about five other Corduroy books in his library and I'll eventually get the rest for him. Lucky Boy!
Such a cute book! My son loves all of the corduroy books, just as much as I love reading them to him. The lift the flaps make for a fun way to be involved and we just love the beach- so this one is one of his favorites!
I checked out every children's beach book at the local library to find the best one to buy for my little niece. This one is perfect with lots of flaps to lift and look under and a simple story about the beach. I bought it and she just loves it.
My son who is almost 2 - loves this book - we started reading it to him when he was about 1.5 before a trip to the beach. Since then - we have read it almost twice a day since. He loves the lift flaps - it is just simple and yet complex enough to keep his attention. He now asks for it by saying Beach.... I highly recommend this series we also have Corduroy goes to the Library, but goes to the beach is definitely a favorite. Downside is that he wants to go to the beach all the time... if that is a downside ;)
