I was excited to learn that Beach Winds was the sequel to Beach Rental. I loved Beach Rental and that was the first book I read by author Grace Greene and I fell in love! She has done it again with Beach Winds! She introduces a few new characters and of course there are the old characters we already know and love from the first book! Frannie is a dynamic character; she wants to assert her independence and be strong, but isn't quite sure who she is and how to go about it. I love that she turns to the beach and helping her uncle. Along the way she finds inspiration through others. Can she forgive and move on? Can she figure out who she really is, or will she turn back to what she has always known? Can she find love and love in return? A great inspirational and slightly Christian read, Beach Winds will have you yearning to take a walk on the beach!I received a copy of this book for free and this is my honest review.
This is a lovely novel with a love story as only a part of it. It tells more about the first book in the series Beach Rental. But both of them are complete on their own. The first book is about a poor little poor girl and the 2nd about a poor little rich girl. We can all be poor for different reasons. You will love Frannie or Fran and she will grow on you just as she experiences growth while at the beach. You will come to love the beach as well as it is a very important part of the book and central to it. Don't miss this book, Grace Greene is a very good writer.
I was nearly put off when a review of the predecessor book criticized it for its religious content. There is a bit of that, but it is certainly not the central themes, and we all need a little reminder that there may be a higher power. I enjoyed the characters and the plot and the ultimate twists and turns in this book. I think Grace Greene is a skilled writer who quickly draws you into her plot and characterizations and her strong sense of place. I highly recommend this for an enjoyable beach or summer or anytime read!!!
Grace did it again. I have loved everything she has written. Being from North Carolina I connect to her stories. Grace has the talent to draw you in. I could feel the sand between my toes as I read. A Must read author!
It took me a while to get into the story, but I was glad I kept on reading. Compelling characters and interesting plot. A good book for a dreary, rainy weekend. It will take you to another place and make you wish you could run away to a lovely house on the beach.
I was looking for a "beach" book to take my mind off our latest snowstorm and found this one. I was immediately drawn into a wonderful story -- the kind that takes your mind off your own everyday problems. I have not read her Book 1 yet - but will very soon. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I also appreciated the fact that she referenced meaningful scripture.
This is a great follow-up to her first book Beach Rental. I enjoyed both immensely and highly recommend both books to everyone. I love a happy ending and hope Ms. Greene will write more in this series of books because I can see so much more to the story.
Great book. I have just found this author, Grace Greene, and have really enjoyed several of her books I have just read. Thanks for offering low prices on some of the authors so people don' t spend a fortune on a book and not enjoy it. I think I got my first book by Grace Greene for $3.99 or possibly $2.99. Since she was a new author to me and the books were inexpensive and sounded good, it was worth a try and I am happy to have found a new author.
