I have only read an advance reader's copy of To Gain a Mommy by Tanya Eavenson. I know the entire set will be awesome just as To Gain a Mommy was. I'm glad I pre-ordered this set so it was downloaded on release day 9/20/16. I'll be reviewing the entire set when I've read rest of these novellas.To Gain a Mommy is a beautiful story that was a joy to read. I could not stop until I read the last word and would love to see a sequel to this amazing novella. The characters are realistic and well developed. The past for Hope Michaels and Carl McGuire had to be resolved before their lives could move forward. Add in Carl’s children, Mary and Brody, and Hope’s dog, Goldie, and you have the perfect combination to aid Carl and Hope. There is plenty of action with true to life issues, along with laughter, sorrow, forgiveness, determination, romance, and trust being restored. Tanya Eavenson created a beautiful story filled with grace, mercy, forgiveness and love as Jesus has shown to each one. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read To Gain a Mommy. I look forward to reading Eavenson’s next book or novella.I received a complimentary e-book of To Gain a Mommy for my honest opinion that I have given.
I was given an advanced copy of Childish Ways. If you read nothing else in this set, you will have gotten more than your money's worth. Lisa and Kevin's story is such a sweet tale of redemption and growing up. As with all of Jenn Faulk's book you get the sizzle without the sex. She does a wonderful job of addressing the temptation that Christians face while dating. She also does an amazing job of teaching forgiveness. Sometimes the hardest thing is forgiving yourself!! The journey these young people embark on together is sweet and fun. I highly recommend this story.
This is a neat concept for a set. So far, I've only read Tanya Eavenson's To Gain a Mommy. I really enjoyed it. The kids in the story, Mary and Brody, just pop off the pages, and if there was no other reason to read it (there is!), these kids would make it worth the time. The romance is sweet and realistic and points the reader to Christ. Good stuff, Tanya! Looking forward to the rest of the stories!
Review of Tropical Kiss or MissNope, I didn't read the blurb of this winter romance beforehand, and when I decided to take a break with this book, I expected a quick and light read to satisfy me in a quick and light kind of way. Quick, it was, and light--yes, I'd say so, as it didn't give me a "heavy" feeling. But there are little things in this romantic story that add substance to it, and I found the timeline it follows to be particularly interesting. It kept me on my toes! There was one scene where I felt the drama heightened abruptedly and a little unnaturally, but it didn't lessen my enjoyment of the story.I'd recommend this read to anyone who'll appreciate a short and sweet romance, light with substance._________________I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Of this collection, I only read Liwen Ho's Tropical Kiss or Miss, which is a sweet Christian romance novella. I love to see authors willing to broach real-life, relatable issues. Especially romance authors who don't shy away from portraying how hard relationships can be. I really appreciated the authenticity of the couple's struggle, the lessons they learned through the process, and the redemption they experienced individually and together. I enjoyed glimpsing into the characters' pasts and seeing how those moments wove together with the present story. Liwen's writing has a fun and relatable voice, depicts realistic and likable characters, and draws readers into a meaningful story that will appeal to fans of Christian romance.
