America Street is one of the best multicultural anthologies I've ever read. It shows how the variety in our society can enrich the lives of young people, and it also shows that even with the cultural differences, there are some things that rermain the same for youth everywhere. I would recommend this book for anyone, but especially adolescents and secondary teachers
This book was assigned to my daughter for a high school English summer reading. We were both pleasantly surprised how much we liked it. I'm already looking for additional writings by the authors whose voice really spoke to me.
It's on the kids reading list but I tried a few stories myself. Very well done. I bought the physical book (not kindle version, don'tknow if there is one) and it arrived quickly and, unlike one other reviewer, in good condition. Very satisfied with it.
My son had to get this book for his class. He really liked the stories in the book.
Great book. I have a difficult time finding readings for my ESL students that both the students and myself will enjoy. There are also lessons that go along with this book on Readworks.org.
I used a lot of the short stories in my Language Arts class. Great stories for diversity and comparing cultures. This is a great book to use with Common Core Curriculum.
Some of the stories are good and I love the idea of a multicultural anthology of stories. I just think there could have been better selections made.
