This book has everything I could ask for in a children's book- particularly one for Christmas!1. A great sing-song rhyme- not forced or fudged. It is a DREAM to read out loud (none of those eye-roll rhymes with made up words or added syllables just to force the verse).2. A mix of the familiar and the new. Everyone knows the Gingerbread Man! And everyone knows he has quite the confidence regarding his running abilities. But not everyone knows how he came to be or the depth of his kind heart3. A meaningful lesson. The premise of the story is that the Gingerbread Man and his classmates at school are tasked with doing good deeds in the name of Christmas Spirit. By the end of the book, you too will be inspired to write a note or bake some cookies for someone who could use some Holiday Cheer.4. Fun, cartoon paneled illustrations that match the light-hearted storyI'm trying to build a collection of Christmas books to start a family tradition so I've read probably 20 or so of the newly released Christmas books this year and this one is so far my favorite!

My son's 1st grade teacher read the first Gingerbread book (Gingerbread Man Loose in the School) in class and gave it to the kids as a Christmas present. We needed this follow up book to go with it. This one is also cute and has a good message. The only thing I didn't like was the pictures. They look like black ink has smeared on them. We sent the first one back thinking it was damaged in printing. The second one came the same way. I think they are going for a newspaper style, but it is kind of strange. It looks more accidental than intentional. Other than that great book and my son loved it.

Murray's adorable Gingerbread Man returns for the holiday season. This time, he works with his classmates to create gifts for the community workers. Not only is this a sweet book about the value of creating gifts with one's own hands, but also doing kind deeds for others. The inclusion of many different community helpers also makes it valuable book about jobs. As always, Murray's rhymes are fun to read, especially the Gingerbread Man's refrains. The problem that the Gingerbread Man runs into is solved in a creative way that I really liked. The book also includes a fun poster for young readers to enjoy with activities on the back. A fun addition to any holiday collection

We do a Christmas book advent every year, and try to add a few new books to the mix each year. This was a fun little addition to our collection. Who doesn't know and love the original story of the Gingerbread man? This book continues with his story, and his efforts to bring a special gift to the one special person in town that helped him become who he is - the local baker! Cute for younger kids, but probably a bit boring for the older ones.

The Gingerbread Man is back and has become a true friend and active participant in his classroom. With a little encouragement from his teacher, he and his fellow classmates band together to enact small acts of kindness and appreciation for their greater community. Proving that love comes in creative, thoughtful packages and a little help goes a long way, the Gingerbread Man Loose at Christmas is likely to start a movement of thoughtfulness. As with the first two books, The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School and The Gingerbread Man Loose on the Fire Truck, the rhyme is an extra treat that adds to the adventure. Another great collaboration from author Laura Murray and illustrator Mike Lowery.

I am very picky with the books I buy for my kids, especially Christmas books. This book is the perfect mix of Christmas fun and teaching kids that Christmas is a time to give and appreciate those around us. I can't wait to read this book to my kids year after year!

This is another really cute gingerbread book and so very nice for Christmas, too. I like the illustrations a lot and the story is wonderful. It is very appealing to little children - and me, too. I do recommend this book for gingerbread story lovers or anyone who needs a good holiday book for little people. It has a very good story.

This is such an adorable children's book. We read this quite frequently this past Christmas. We even gave a copy to our child's school teacher. It is a wonderful way to say thank you to care takers with a gift that other children can read as well. Very sweet story to it. If I could give it 8 stars I would!! Wonderful story and wonderfully illustrated.
