As with all National Geographic books, the photos were excellent. Each chapter in the book covers one continent, covering topics about land, weather, people, animal and sights. The book is easy to navigate, and is great for independent reading. The information provided is basic, so it is great for young kids, since they would not be overloaded with too much details. My 5 year old son is fascinated by the book, and will ask further questions related to the countries.
This book was a bit above my kids' levels, but as a parent, I think it's great and they'll grow into it. I even learned a couple of facts about other places in the world! I look forward to reading it to them again when they're a bit older and can understand what we're talking about a little more.
My 6 years old daughter loves reading this book! Beautifully illustrated!
Very good book. Enjoyed reading it with kids. We, adults, learned some new stuff from this book also. Recommend for K - 1st grade. We have all National geographic Big books, and love them all, this one didn't disappoint either!
Grandchild very pleased with this book as are all National Geographic books.
this was a gift for our grandson to complement the globe we gave him for christmas. he asks his parents to read through the whole book over and over as a bedtime story (strange kid, but we still love him). whenever he watches tv or hears of a country, he would look it up on the globe and goes thru the book and talk about the animals or whatever is interesting in that country. very inspirational book for the 6yr old.
My five year old's other favorite book. The pictures are well placed throughout the entire book. There is so much to learn out there about different countries and cultures... I actually started reading this book on my own without my kid.
Great book for little ones starting to learn about the world, but has way too much clutter that can divert their attention (do you really expect little kids to relate to the square footage of continents?)
