I now own several of these sing along books by Barefoot, and they can be hit or miss with my class of 2 year olds. This one, is a HIT! It's got a good beat that the children can easily catch, it is filled with transportation, colors and sounds. But it isn't so overwhelming that it's hard to focus on, which is what I've noticed about some of their books. Anyone with children interest in music and/or transportation theme should get this book!
This is our toddler's very favorite book. She knows every verse and lights up when she sees any vehicle and begins to sing. It comes with a CD but also is available on youtube including a looping collection of Barefoot Singalong books. We love these!
I recently heard another music therapist use this story with preschoolers, and I had to buy this book for myself! I love the illustrations of the book. This is great to teach colors and encourage vocalization with small children by repeating the sounds all the different modes of transportation make! I am excited that this book comes with a CD also. I haven't listened to it yet, but this book can be used with or without it.
This is a wonderful book for children, and a great find for teachers. It has predictable, rhythmic text, a cumulative series of vehicles (always a favorite), fun sounds to make, and neat pictures. The toddlers I work with and the first graders my daughter teaches all love it. The CD with Fred Penner is a real treat, too!
I bought this because I discovered it was being used in the Early Childhood classroom for my 4 year old. Any books and songs that will grab his attention is what I'm interested in! It's very sweet and quite special.
Great book for transportation unit at school. Helps identify vehicles and the sounds they make. Repetition was very good for young listeners. Found corresponding pictures on a preschool web site that the kids loved.
My two-year-old loves this book as well as the music CD that accompanies it. The illustrations are colorful and engaging, and the song (sung by Winnipegger Fred Penner) is catchy and easy to learn. I recently recommended that our preschool purchase a copy.
The illustrations are very interesting and the song is really catchy. The whole family is now fans of Fred Penner. It's not only for the kids, you'll even sing it to yourself in the bathroom. We are going to get more sing a long titles sung by him.
