I purchased this atlas for my precocious four-year-old granddaughter who is very curious about the world and asking "where is that?" questions. It is simple enough for a young beginner, yet contains enough interesting material to give her food for thought for some time. A real winner!
This atlas is an outstanding means for introducing young children to one of the many important tools necessary for mastering geography. The continents are clearly and boldly shown. Information is precise and appropriate.
This is my child's first world atlas. There is a bit more focus on the US and Canada, but it also highlights the other continents. It's not an atlas that outlines countries geographically. This atlas outlines the continents and some main landmarks. I think it's a good atlas that helps a 4 or 5 year old explore our world.
This atlas is perfect for my 3-year-old son. We pull it out regularly to show where something/someone is. It has simple, uncluttered maps with a few details that we can choose to read or not.
I purchased this atlas as a birthday gift for my three year-old daughter, as she's recently taken an interest in maps. The graphics are great, and the information appears to all be correct. But it's a bit skimpy, and it doesn't include many pictures of exotic fruits and animals. My daughter's shown little interest in it, preferring instead an atlas I received as a kid back in the early 1980s.
I teach first grade and have been looking for resource books. This meets the need I had for materials. I would like to purchase a few more for student use.
