SUICIDE SQUAD VOL.4DISCIPLINE AND PUNISHIn the fourth volume of the book we get a new creative team and even a new Suicide Squad team with only a few remaining members from before. This collects issues 20-23 and the Harley Quinn and Deadshot solo stories from the villain’s month one shots. At first I was a little uncertain about the talent change because I loved Glass’s story. As it turns out while the change is very apparent it still remained a fun read. The team is put back together with both Waller and a new face vying for control of the team. Speaking of new faces, new team members join the few remaining originals. There is a new mission and after another Harley Quinn solo plot the members have a new look on life in the squad, one better for them. Only downside though may be the biggest [literally] foe they have faced and that is only mission one.The story here changes in tone as well as style but I kinda liked it, didn’t think I would when the issues were first released. As always I am here for Harley but I really liked the inclusion of James Gordon Jr., he is a super interesting character especially in this setting. All of the characters here make sense for the team and add to the overall feel of the book. Of course this being the type of book it is comes with some big action which is great with the art work we get. Also we get the solo tales of Harley and Deadshot that both lead into the “Suicide Squad” story. Harley’s is a more fun carefree, like her, story and also lets us see how she came upon the new outfit she has. I liked the art work here as it matched the fun of the story.
