Dr. Seuss is unfortunately looked over by some people as just a guy who wrote silly little children's books. That may be partially true, but all of his books had a much deeper meaning if you are willing to be open-minded and take a closer look. His work is brilliant and outlandishly creative; so much so that he is recognized as the creator of the word `Nerd' in the English language when the word was first featured in his 1950 book `If I Ran the Zoo.' Some people believe that it is unfair to take quotes from his work after his death and related it to `lessons of life' the way this book does and that the quotes have no relation at all to what they are connected with. I don't believe that is true at all; I believe that he wrote these stories with the exact meaning they are realted too, which is why his books are brilliant. Here are two of my favorite quotes from the book so you can judge for yourself...ON EQUALITY AND JUSTICE`I know, up on top you are seeing great sights, but down at the bottom we, too, should have rights.'ON GOING PLACES`The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.'If you still think Dr. Suess books are just for kids then ponder this...`Every book is a children's book if the kid can read' - Mitch Hedberg

I'm giving this book to 10 middle managers - while initially they'll probably think it's childish, once they read it they will understand why they received it. Seuss gives us all a simplified view of life and applying the basics to home and work. I also highly recommend everyone read "Open Your Mind, Open Your Life: A Little Book of Wisdom" by Taro Gold.

Seuss-isms is a super book! It's funny, easy to read (it's a book of quotes from his many books)and entertaining. Anyone from 3 to 1,003 will enjoy this wonderful book (I'm 12, and I love this book, and so does my mom)Read it!!!!

The person from Durham clearly missed the point of this book. Certainly, Dr. Seuss did not set out to write specifically about "Equality and Justice, "Diversity," or "Activism," but he didn't have to! (Mmm...but upon deeper thought, I think he *did* set out to write about these very issues!)This is a great little compilation, and doesn't feel forced or faked or "context-less" at all. If you are upset and if you find this particular book to be simply a marketing ploy, then you're not heeding the Good Doctor: "So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact, and remember that Life's A Great Balancing Act."Certainly, I'll buy books by Dr. Seuss. But I'll buy this one, too, several times.

Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite authors and I love his quotes. This book was disappointing because many of my favorite quotes weren't even in the book which was very brief. When ordering online, you don't realize that this is actually a mini-sized book that will fit in your pocket.

My wife wasn't totally on board with this for a high school grad so I had to come up with an inscription to make sure it wasn't too childish a gift for someone at a pivotal point of becoming an adult. As you grow olderand start to reflect, you'll realize these Seuss-ismsare all quite correct. But, if you don't like it a lot, just think,it's the best money cardyou ever got!Stuffed with a few bucks, there's no 18 year old that won't appreciate it, right?

It's a fun book and makes a great gift. We had a copy at a graduation party and invited friends and family to sign and add their own "words of wisdom". Now, my son not only has advice from Seuss, but a lasting memory of the day and the people who were there to celebrate with him. 💙💜💚

I absolutely love this book. It is actually a collection of quotes from his other books, compiled to give life lessons in brief. Perfect for anyone who loves Dr. Seuss (although, not really a read-to-me book for small children:)
