3.5 stars.Brubaker and Phillips return to their Criminal series after a long (6 or 7 years) hiatus. This has two stories, both involving Teeg Lawless (a small time criminal with money and family troubles). The first takes place in 1976 when he is in county jail and the second in 1979 when Teeg and Tracy, his 12 year old son, take a crime fueled road trip. The road trip story is told from Tracy's perspective - Brubaker does a nice job portraying what it is like for a decent child to have a terrible person for a father. Tracy looks like a very young Luke Skywalker (I'd like to know if Phillips drew him that way on purpose). The stories are not connected, other than they are windows into the Teeg males' lives. Neither story has a true conclusion, which might leave some readers dissatisfied.
