My husband and I vacationed in Iceland last month. We were fortunate enough to book two horseback riding sessions in different parts of Iceland. With a 16 month old grandson at home, his mother requested a book from Iceland. I found this on and ordered it. I am so pleased! My grandson is in love with the book (it is one of his favorites) and sat the entire way through with me reading it to him! The photographs are excellent and the text is very appropriate. I enjoyed revisiting the scenery and the memories of the horses. They are unique and so abundant in Iceland! For Accelerated Reader it is designated at 3.0 and as a retired media specialist, I highly recommend it for any student who loves horses or learning about different places.
We own two Icelandic horses and I wanted to teach my boys about where they came from. This book is delightful with it's photos of real children from Iceland enjoying their Icelandic horses and working with them to bring in the sheep. This book was exactly what was in order to show how our horses are special to the world!
