This is my first graphic novel. Thanks Carlos. This is a great beginning to the series and the graphics make the story come alive. If you are into graphic novels you need the one.If you haven't read the Corps Justice Series I highly recommend them as well.
Great to see this book in a graphic novel form, hope it continues will the rest of the books in this series. Cant wait to get this in a paper form.Corps Justice is quickly becoming a favorite , series to see what is coming out next .
OUTSTANDING. Follows the original story well. Having read the first story twice, I was very impressed not only with the story bringing back the full story in full bloom in my mind. The graphics are awesome and just intensifies the images in my mind.
Having read and enjoyed C. G. Cooper's novel Back to War, I just had to try the graphic version. It is GREAT! The writing is excellent. The artists involved are fabulous! I absolutely recommend Back to War, Episode One!
The comic version of the book couldn't have been any better. Everything was spot on. Even the guns were drawn as if Jim Lee was doing them. While I enjoyed this medium, it did lack for some slow points in the story boards, but that is a minor quip and probably only because I've read the book twice and knew what was coming and wanted to get to it.The characters were well drawn, the dialogue tight and were Semper Fi! to the book.
I earlier read the novel this was adapted from and was a little concerned that I wouldn't like this as much. It's been a long time since I read a book that depends on pictures as well as words to make the reader want to be there. So I relaxed my internal skeptic and dove in.It was so worth it! While the pictures may not have been identical to the images of the characters my brain had come up with, they would have looked like close relatives. But more importantly, this book stands on its own. It jumps into the story, gives the full context, tugs on your heartstrings, and makes you want justice with an almost visceral response. So take a chance on a new series and get to know Cal Stokes. You'll wish he could be your new best friend.
I haven't read a graphic novel before, but since reading the Corps Justice series I figured it would be worth checking out this version, and wasn't disappointed at all. It's very cool with visuals of the players in Mr. Coopers stories. Two thumbs up!
The original book was written like a screenplay, which made it difficult to sink your teeth into when first being introduced to characters. Great adaptation of the book that started it all rolling....Extremely talented artists. As well as extremely talented novelist, if you like this, check out remainder of series. This talented author also a new series, (military apocalyptic/sci-fi thriller) with the first book called The Patriot Protocol due most likely at the end of April 2016. He also has another series, Benjamin Dragon about a 10-year-old boy with special powers, used to fight injustice like the guys in CorpsJustice. (Shameless plug)!Cannot wait for more!
