Pistis Sophia: The Gnostic Tradition Of Mary Magdalene, Jesus, And His Disciples
Ebooks Online

The Pistis Sophia is an extremely important Gnostic text, dating back to the early 2nd Century. The text claims that after His resurection, Christ remained on Earth for another eleven years, teaching His Disciples up to the first level of the Mystery. In Gnostic teachings, the Sophia is the female aspect of God, and Christ is the male aspect of Divinity. The title "Pistis Sophia" translates to the "faith of Sophia".

I love this book, every time you reread the text you will discover a new truth, Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and Peter are compelling in their discourses. The Magdalene proves her superiority as to understanding Jesus'words, compared to the knowledge and understanding of the male diciples. It is easy to see why "He loved her best". It is best to have abasic understanding of Gnosticism to receive the most from the "first read". You will want to read it again and again.

A must read for anyone interested in the esoteric teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. Delivers in great detail, conversations between Jesus and his mother Mary, his apostle Mary Magdalene and his disciples.Herein, Jesus reveals the Mysteries to those who have ears to hear with... Answers many of the questions many readers have after reading more familiar scripture such as the Holy Bible.Served for this reader, confirmation of his own Gnosis.

G.R.S Mead was a great scholar. My feeling is that this is not just a deeply researched but also a highly intuitive translation.

Tough book for me to follow. It most certainly is off the beaten path as far as faith goes. This book is from a time when the whole system of faith was entirely up for grabs. The funny thing is now we are at the same point. Modern religion has become so demographically fixated (What pleases what group? Who is god to this group? Where can we get the biggest draw?) as well as being so archaically dogmatic that it is crumbling under its own remodeling.Bill and Ted saying, "Be excellent to each other!" is just as effective as Jesus saying, "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Maybe even a little more effective. That though, is just me.As you can tell, this book didn't quite inspire me. I will pick it up again, and try to get more out of it. It might just be the Kindle format is detracting from the message on some level.

All true seekers of Gnosis should study this remarkable book, illuminating masterpiece showing part of the pre-advent and post-resurrectional work and transcendent teachings of Lord Jesus.

A wonderful document of a transitional period between earlier Greek and Egyptian mythology and those of emerging Christian sects. The Kindle scan was a bit sloppy and lacks the margin notes of the original. I switched back and forth between Kindle and a web page that was much cleaner and had a better presentation.

Love it, just what I wanted. This is the book of the teachings of Jesus to his Disciples after his resurrection. For the true searcher of the mysteries of life.

to read if you do not have a post doc in historical writings but the further you read the more gems come thru. It truly became life changing for me .
