I highly recommend this edition for teens and young adults. The content is the same as the original, but the verbal illustrations, word pictures, etc. are changed from marriage and family issues to things they can relate to. Very well done.
Perfect book for a preteen girl! In this day of "mean girls" and feeling left out, this book helps young girls realize out who she is, what she really wants and what popularity really means. Easy read.
I picked this book up quite by accident. I have since recommended it to the library, head of my church's youth ministry, and will continue to tell parents and others. I can't wait to read the adult version for myself. In the meantime, this book is going to a 12 year old just beginning her young adult life. I expect it to impact her immensely!By the way, the ending of the book is awesome! It was actually hard for me to put the book down at night ... it's packed with thought-provoking ideas. No one can deny that making teens think is a valuable endeavor.Lastly, I believe this book should be "absorbed" by teens in their quiet time. (Parents, help provide this!) If the youth group wants to discuss the book chapter by chapter I believe it would produce fruit ... but the personal revelation is key and shouldn't be by-passed!Another author that I'd recommend for parents is Rick Johnson. I am really critical when someone talks about God's Word ... it has to be right on or I won't recommend. sl
Covers many topics that all point towards self-discovery. A great read for Christians and non-Christians. The author writes in a very honest manner. Enjoyable and hard to put down.
The high school girls I used this with enjoyed the examples and could relate to the book. Ortberg is a favorite of mine because he's so real and easy to read, yet has substance.
I love the adult one. The current language and stories made it enjoyable to our teens. It caused for some great discussions w/ them too. Not dry or boring.
