Hebrew Word Study: A Hebrew Teacher Explores The Heart Of God
Ebooks Online

Thou hast ravished my heart"-in the Hebrew, this is one of the most beautiful and at the same time heartbreaking words that I have ever run across in my forty years of studying biblical Hebrew. You see, it is only one word in Hebrew: livabethini. This comes from the root word levav, which means heart. The first thing to note is that this is one of the rare cases where the double Beth is used. The Beth represents the heart. A double Beth represents God's heart and our hearts joined together in a love relationship. It is a picture of two hearts opening up to each other and becoming equally vulnerable. Do you want to understand God's heart? Look at your own; it was created in His image. Is not your heart wounded when someone you care about just ignores you? Do you not grieve when someone you look forward to being with calls five minutes before your time together and says, "Oh, sorry, I am too busy for you right now"? What do we do to God's heart when we ignore Him or are too busy to spend a moment in prayer? Chaim Bentorah moves from his search for God's heart to now exploring the heart of God by drilling down to the very core and soul of Hebrew words. Chaim asks the question: "What good is there to applying linguistics and science to one's translation of the Bible without an emotional context" He presents a Hebrew word study unlike any others, for he first considers a Hebrew word in the context of God's heart"

The author selected very interesting words that affect the Christian faith, then elaborates from a Hebrew perspective. A very pleasant book to reed, that will lift your heart and give your brain something to think about while you sleep. The English translation of Greek words frequently loses the original thought of Jesus and the apostles. The author uses the original Hebrew to help the reader develop the word meaning rather than giving you the answer. Enjoy, not study!

I was a drawn to the book because the title promised to show God's heart through teacher study of God's specific word choice. It did that. Chain Bentorah explores God's heart in his teaching of God's word demonstration just how much God loves us intimately.Well done!

Just when we start to drift away just slightly we are drawn right back into to the arms of God which take us to the knowledge of His heart. This writer.....this book does places you just there. Thank you Chaim for helping me to want to be with Jesus everyday knowing His heart.

Wow. This book makes verses more clearer. The author choose some obscure verses and helps you to understand what is being said. The author's translation gives you a different meaning than what you may think from reading the verse, but the verse gets a better meaning. Each Hebrew word can have several different word meanings. The author also looks at the culture of the time it was written to help in the translation. This book made me think about the scriptures in a deeper way. To often we read the Bible and only get a surface answer. Digging deep into the Hebrew we will get a deeper understanding. Each Hebrew word is defined by positive and negative words. Each Bible translator had to choose which words they felt captured the scriptures meaning.

I love this series. As a Messianic Jew, I find his observations profound, exciting, and sometimes just plain fun. He can go from the ridiculous to the sublime with a turn of phrase, and I never fail to be surprised by where he finally winds up.

wonderful read when you want to be intimate and draw closer to YHWH. Perfect for those times when are needing a refreshing and a hug from YAH

Absolutely one of the best daily devotion readings yet. I couldn't stop read "just one" daily, they are all great from a Hebraic mind set, a must read for ALL CHRISTIANS and those seeking truth.

This author writes with his whole heart. Using the original language, he helps you understand what the scriptures say, the meaning, emotion etc. So you look at them in a different light. Try it, it's great!
