The math explanations in this book are very elaborate and easy to understand. I honestly think I learned more from this book than I did from my math teachers while in school. Thus, if you want to learn math, reading, and word knowledge this is the book.Before I purchased this book I would have liked to know that not all the 9 sub test of the asvab are included, theres only the four most important ones for you to qualify and be able to join a military branch. However, the other 5 sub test are necessary for you to open your doors to more job positions.
I bought this along with kaplan 2011 and Asvab flash cards, and this by far helped the most. the Asvab flashcards i got robbed cause nothing on those were on the test, and the Kaplan book is way harder than the actual test and that messed me up. Get this book. its the best investment you can make. I thought this book was the least of my favorite. until i took the test, and i realized when i was taking the test that this book was actually legit, and most of the math questions come straight from this book. The other books did not. I'm just giving you guys the 411. i ended up getting a 51 which is okay. but before that i got a 28. so this book helped alot.
This book is well worth the money! I have been out of High School for 7 years and was worried about taking the ASVAB. I took online practice tests but this didn't help me study much. I ordered this book and was pleasantly surprised by all the good information. The practice tests were a great help also! I looked over this book for about 2 weeks and scored an 80 on my ASVAB. There are a few mistakes throughout the book but nothing that should cause problems. I would tell anyone who asks to use this book when studying for the ASVAB.
This is a really good book I struggle to past the asvab til I brought this book I went from an 8 to a 19 to doubling that score I will be joining the army national guard hooah I would highly recommend this book to anybody who wants to double their score or triple their score hope I helped somebody. #Army Strong
You're either considering on buy this book to improve your current (decent) score, or you just can't get a passing score. DON'T BUY THIS BOOK IF YOUR SCORE IS ALREADY GOOD. It will not help.I had previously scored a 75 on my ASVAB a few years ago when I was in high school. Since its been a few years since I've been in high school I figured I would buy this book to "freshen up" my knowledge. I also though that maybe it would give me a few pointers that I could use to study. Sadly it did not. Literally EVERYTHING in this book was just common sense, for me at least. But I can't really knock it because it could be beneficial for others.
I can say that I studied this book for about 3.5 weeks. I took my ASVAB recently, for the very first time ever (2/21/2015). My intentions were to score a 50 or above to be accepted into the airforce. I scored a 68! I was VERY intrigued by the results! The word knowledge in the book was very difficult (atleast to me) but on the actual ASVAB it was so much easier! The math sections was a breeze, once you actually dedicate yourself to learning the methods! I could've acored higher if I actually knew sh*t about mechanics, electronics and auto shop..lol. I chose this book because of the motivational reviews and I promised myself if I were to score a 50+ I would like to encourage others about the benefits of this book! I legit spent atleast 2 hours a day studying this book. It's hardly boring too! I finished reading it by my first week, and I continued to do practice tests for the remaining two weeks! Once again, I was highly pleased with the results of this book!!
This book describes why getting a good score on the ASVAB/AFQT tests are important in getting the type of job you will qualify for in the military. I think it is a good primer but you begin to realize that you should have studied harder in school when you start to take the practice exams. It's hard to to be good a math and reading without earlier preparation although this will help.
I purchased this book for my daughter because the recruiters recommended it. She has had this book for a good two months now and her scores on the practice test improved each time she took the test. I gave this 4 stars because my daughter said the science stuff on the test wasn't in this book. My daughter barely made it through High School and still this book improved her scores. So with that being said,I recommend this book.
