About me: IT professional for >20 years. Took the ISC2 on-line course and used two books... This book and "CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional Study Guide" by James Stewart. Stewart's book was for the detail and the practice exams... THIS book... "Eleventh Hour CISSP: Study Guide" was for review in the week preceding the test. Unlike most CISSP books, this one is *concise* --- It won't *teach* you the material... If you're unprepared, this book won't help. Rather, it runs through the material you need to know... If you don't grasp a concept, turn to a deeper source to learn it. Still, *highly* recommended as the "finishing touch" on whatever method(s) you use to prepare.

You have to read the Shon Harris book - this will take you a long time to get through. I bought this book to read the day before the exam. It is quick and condensed and gave me an edge on the exam. Well worth the money.I am glad I bought it and the price made it a no brainer.Warning: You won't pass the exam by only reading this book.

I used the CISSP All-In-One by Shon Harris as my primary preparation text and this book was an excellent complement the day before my exam. It's a well-organized, no-nonsense review of key CBK points-- bulleted lists where they were needed, focus and highlights on the really important stuff. From what I saw, it was spot-on.

Excellent review. Read and study what's in the book the week before the exam. I read and studied two chapters per day the week before taking the exam. This book has several tips on answering questions which none of the other books or CISSP instructors covered. The price of the book was worth it just of the tips and tricks for memorizing information which was asked on the exam. This information contained in this version of the book is completely relevant for the changes made to the exam in April of 2015. I purchased the Shon Harris book and found it contained way too much historical information which is irrelevant for the exam and for industry. I could see it being useful if you goal was to be a computer history museum curator. Over three quarters of the book dealt with technology that hasn't been used in over a decade. Some of the chapters contained detailed information on technology that was over 25 year old. Why?I passed first try. As everyone says the exam doesn't go into a lot of depth, but you do have to know a lot. The "new" exam (2015) has only changed 4% which means they only changed 9 or 10 questions.I used the CISSP for Dummies book as my primary reference and would do it again. BUT don't use it as your only reference. This book covered topics which were on the exam the Dummies book didn't even discuss.Best way to prepare is to read topics in the Dummies Book and use Bing searches to find material to study. Do this for a month or two before taking the exam. Then read and study from this book the week before the exam.Good luck.

Eleventh Hour CISSP is a lifesaver if self-studying for the CISSP exam. Clear, easy to comprehend sections cover all 8 security domains. I was overwhelmed by the thinker official guides. This guide alone won't ensure a passing score but is extremely helpful in explaining clearly how different technologies and topics relate to each other without the filler frequently found in larger texts.Give yourself plenty of time, dedicate a couple hours a day for 2 months and you can have a good shot at passing. This book is great for reinforcing what you already know and is well worth the investment. For best results combine this with a comprehensive practice exam text or online resource.

I took a SANS course instructed by the author of this book and was of the same high quality. I read this book a few days before the exam and it was the only book I read on CISSP and I passed the first time. This book gets down to the important details of the exam and is well supplemented with provided practice exams. Best part is the book is only a few hundred pages and can be read in a weekend.

Brief and to-the-point chapters almost like note cards hit the highlights of the key CISSP material. This is a supplement to Eric Conrad's CISSP study guide designed to be read the hours before the exam. I keep this at work for study during lunch and breaks and keep the bigger book at home.

I am thankful that a friend of mine recommended this book for me. I was planning on taking the CISSP and had already paid the fee for the test. I had studied via a CBT at work and mastered the subject matter. I bought this book 'just in case' and found out that the CBT was outdated. If I had taken the test without this book, I would have bombed it. Thank goodness I checked it.The book is very thorough and outlines each aspect of the CISSP domains (all 10) in an easy to absorb format. You will need to read this book a few times to reach mastery but the in-book tests and the digital addendum will help you along the way. Writing is a bit dry but then again, it's a technical manual so what do you expect?Don't take the CISSP test without at least going through this book a few times. You will be glad you did!
