Just finished reading OCA study guide. The book is comprehensive and is well written. I am a DBA for last 16 years and for me it was a good refresher to review about the database features and learn about the new 12c features too. The key points are bulleted – a style l like a lot. It is organized well and written in simplicity. I recommend this book to all DBAs, both experienced and aspiring.
The book is very easy to read and helped the reader to understand the complexities of the product's old and new features. And the author do a very good job of explaining new features and concepts with lot of practical questions and answers.
This study guide is awful. This book is full spelling mistakes and sentence that stop mid word and begin a new different sentence mid word on the next line. The companion software is just as bad as the book. With duplicate answers for review/test questions ( A and C will be the same answer) and only one of those answers will be marked correct, cut off example images/questions/code. Do your self a favor purchase the guides from Oracle press.
My school bookstore was selling this for almost twice as much as it is here. There are a couple of errors in the book, but overall, very good content. I'll try to update after I take the Cert Exam.
Very clear explanations throughout the guide to Oracle 12c. Anyone can pick this up and understand how to operate the database from a DBA perspective.
