My daughter loves Disney Junior shows so of course i pre-ordered this as soon as i saw it, when i received it, it reminded me of those thin books from elementary school.. It's adorable book to read for bedtime or anytime, believe me i've read it quite a few times! My daughter loves books so this was a hit! This book is episode on Sheriff Callie.
I have a pre-k child that is just in LOVE with Sheriff Callie. This is one of the few things out that is branded Sheriff Callie. I bought it hoping to satisfy her love. Toby the Cowsitter is a story about how Toby really wanted one of Ella's new milkshakes but he didn't have a nickle. So he promised to watch farmer Stinky's cow for a nickel. Farmer Stinky gave him specific instructions on how to care for the cow. But Toby didn't really listen. He just wanted that nickel so he could buy the milk shake. And as soon as Farmer Stinky left that is exactly what he did! Then he did the same thing with a few more farmers and before he knew the town was overrun with out of control cows! Sheriff Callie and Deputy Peck ranged all the cows and returned the town to order. Toby learned a lesson. The book is cute. It follows the animated series to a T. My daughter liked it. And the illustrations are wonderful.
I was so happy to find a Sheriff Callie book for my 2 yr old granddaughter. She calls her the cat when she wants to watch the cartoon. Sheriff Callie cartoons teach a moral like not lying, not stealing, being nice and other character qualities. She is fun to watch, not crass or vulgar. There are to many cartoons like that on the air now, it is refreshing to find something a child can watch that you don't have to worry about. My granddaughter loves what Sheriff Callie can do with her rope and guitar. GREAT for anyone who loves Sheriff Callie.
I love Golden books so when we found one of my daughter's favorite shows as a Golden book we had to get it! If you are familiar with Sheriff Callie this book is true to the Toby the Cowsitter episode. The pictures are adorable, the story is quick and easy to read and I like the message of following through on promises/ commitments. We would buy this book again!
I'm giving this book 4 stars because the illustrations are crisp and bright and the story is both entertaining and consistent with the series episode of the same name. However, as other reviewers have mentioned, Golden Books appears to have some production issues with binding -- the pages stick out beyond the cover of the book. This isn't something any toddler will care about, but it will annoy parents.
Bought these for my 2 year old daughter and can't wait to read these to her. I remember these books when I was little.Love these little books for a 2 year old as well as they are short and easy to read.Great price and great quality.
i didn't realize it would have library stickers on it....on the edge of the book, the back of the book (3 of them) and the inside back cover. I don't feel I can give this as a gift now. I am disappointed. The pages are in good shape though.
The story is cute. It is nice to finally have some Sheriff Callie products available for purchase. The book itself is of poor quality. The pages extend beyond the cover and stick out.
