I absolutely loved this story. Heart throbbing romance plus a soul satisfying story. The story of Anna and Weston will grab you from the beginning and not let you go until the very end. Well written and thoroughly engaging characters who each have their own stories too. Darling is a town with heart and love for the citizens. Very clean and uplifting. I highly recommend this truly wonderful story from a super author!!
In Whispers to My Heart, JoAnn Durgin once again uses credible, fallible characters to weave Biblical truth into a story line of improbable romance, affable humor, believable tension, and vulnerable personalities. Candidly discussing the realistic moral challenges between the sexes, Durgin finesses these interrelationships through the lens of 1Corinthians 10:13, demonstrating that God provides a way out of temptation; at the same time, these situations become the backdrop for sharing the Gospel. Purposely avoiding the over-the-top misunderstandings that often plague Christian fiction, these genuine depictions create convincing scenarios that work on two levels: first, as enjoyable fiction, and second, as thought-provoking personal relevance. Truly a delightful read with depth and conviction!
What a beautiful story! Well written, tender, inspiring, and uplifting. Endearing, well developed characters that weave their way into your heart. You can feel the author's heart in the telling of this story and that is a rare gift, JoAnn Durgin! Well done, indeed. I will be reading more of your books, for certain.
Author JoAnn Durgin excels at creating realistic, compelling heroes and heroines and their supporting casts of wonderful characters—sometimes eccentric, always intriguing. Whisper to My Heart is no exception, and I loved this story. Its appeal began as soon as I read the back cover blurb. Music has always been important to me, and the love of my life is a builder. So Whisper and I had a bond before the first page.From the opening scene of Anna’s near-disaster, through her and Weston’s stumbling, heartfelt conversations, to the deeply satisfying ending, I was enthralled. I love the little town of Darling, Georgia, and all its inhabitants. Roz pushed her way into my heart, while others charmed their way in.Anyone who enjoys a good read with a strong Christian message, fantastic characters, and a charming small town full of realistic, multi-layered people will love Whisper to My Heart. It easily earns five stars from me. Highly recommended.This book was a gift and will remain part of my treasured library.
As a Christian, I so appreciate authors who write Contemporary Christian love stories. I loved Whisper to My Heart! It's not easy to keep a relationship pure but it is what God expects His children to do! JoAnn Durgin is not afraid to have her characters lead Godly lives, quote Scripture and lead others to the Lord! I love all of her books! I can hardly wait to start the next one!
I'm not quite sure how Ms. Durgin does it, but her books just keep getting better... I think I'm going to have to start calling her the book whisperer. I go in thinking, okay, this can't possibly be as good as the last one, and I'm right... it's not as good, it's EVEN MORE AWESOME. I feel like I'm watching evolution of this author because every single time, her books reduce me to tears (in a good way). Anna and Westin's story was no different. Set in small town Georgia, Ms. Durgin captured everything that is wonderful about the south - the food, the fun, the relationships, and the values that most small towns embody. I couldn't put this book down and I love seeing the characters overcome obstacles to embrace what's most important - Faith and love. This was a phenomenal story that I will be reading again just because it's that great!
What an amazing story of overcoming obstacles and trusting God! In every book by JoAnn Durgin the reader can expect an incredible amount of chemistry and this book was off the charts for sparks flying.I loved the honesty of Weston explaining his attraction to Anna. She was a breath of fresh air in a world of women who know their attributes and aren't afraid to flaunt them.Something else I've come to expect from this author is a clear description of the plan of salvation. While reading this story you will be reminded that we are all flawed people and no one is beyond receiving God's grace.I could tell you lots to love about the couple and the sweet town of Darling, Georgia but instead I will simply tell you that this is an amazing book filled with faith, friends, family and forever!! Read it!
Be still my heart! I got so teary reading this and was incredibly touched and blessed by this story. You will all fall in love with EVERY character even if you are initially annoyed by them. JoAnn Durbin put off her release of this book to add a lot more writing and I am so glad she did. I don't know what she added but it would have felt incomplete without it. I would love to see Neil and Madison connect with teamwork in a future book. :) another A++ book from one of my favorite authors. Her books are thought-provoking and always direct me back to Christ and cause me to examine my life. This one is no different! This is a must read!!!!!
