This book is catchy and alluring. The illustrations capture my 2.5 year old the entire book. She likes to comment on Cowpoke Clyde's reactions and it even helps her predict what's on the next page. This a solid book in terms of engaging the audience and enhancing preliteracy skills. I want more tales with Cowpoke Clyde!

My 6 year old and I love this book. We love the illustrations and the rhyming is clever. I was able to read this book to my son's entire kindergarten class and even did it with a southern draw to make it more exciting. They loved really enjoyed this story. This is a very cute book-the illustrations are great and I will keep long after the grandchildren no longer are interested! Little miss I know with read with western twang/slang! She loves books that she can use a pretend voice!!!!
It is a measure of how much my daughter loves this book that I have essentially memorized ALL of it. With fake Texan accent. My child has us read this to her EVERY night, and it's cute enough (illustrations and rhymes) that we're willing to do it. I will be buying copies of this for my friends who have kids.
I always buy a child's book and read it myself before I gift it. Cowpoke Clyde and Dirty Dawg make the top of my list. The rhyming is great and sometimes unexpected and the illustrations are top notch. All dog owners are familiar with their dogs ability to escape a bath, but Clyde stumbles on a new solution. Highly recommended.
