This workbook is good for drilling geometry and reviewing concepts sequentially that are already known. It, however, does not give any explanations on how to solve the math problems, so it is a tricky book to use in my homeschooling. If you are uncertain on some math concepts, this book will not teach them, so I can only recommend that parents or teachers or students use this if they already know geometry and just want additional practice.
We started our 11 year old son on the 5th grade Kumon books back in the summer, so that he wouldn't lose any of his previous years' knowledge. He blew right through every one available for 5th grade, and we're now onto the 6th grade level. We have had a rule of 30 minutes a day in the book- on top of any homework he has, and doing this has enabled him to go from a "B" student in math, to being an "A" student in the advanced math class! We're hoping that he will be able to get through the remaining 6h grade books before he finishes his 5th grade year, so that by summer he will be onto the 7th grade books, to stay ahead.He does not get bored with the way the books are set up, which is a huge plus in comparison to some others we have tried over the years.We couldn't be happier.
I just got a book which is Kumon Math workbook ,Geometry & Measurement Grade 6th. Even though this book is used book, it is really clean one. I've never seen before.. I'm really satisfied with book... Thanks a ton.. Good Luck..
This is a great book on geometry filled with exercises that will challenge students. My ESL tutee is excellent in math, and I want him to do his summer homework to prepare for his high school years. i believe that Chris will increase his self confidence and self esteem as he is a very shy child. He studies diligently and obtains outstanding marks in math; however, he knows he is shy and wants to become more inter personally involved with his classmates. His parents and I support his goal of becoming more talkative with his colleagues.Chris is very intelligent and focused; however, his English oral and written skills require enhancement. He knows that and so do his parents who encourage him to take school trips. However, Chris does not want to go on these outings that bind friendships while trips out-of-town.Chris is learning to play the guitar and that help him become more involved with friends who also play. Needless to say, his parents and I are working on enriching Chris to know other adolescents and become at ease with himself and others. Knowledge is important; however, interpersonal relationships are important elements for his future.I stress not only academics, but social skills that are so important in his future professional life.
My son said he would give it a ten rating.He had trouble in math last year so wanted a head start for this year. It is very easy to understand.Tell everybody about this workbook.
This was perfect for summer but would also be a wonderful supplemental during the school year. Helps break down skills and develop them so that the kids are confident.
i selected this book for my 5th grader as a supplement to his school work. The workbook provides additional practice for him to truly master the concept.
I have been using Kumon work-books to teach at home and they are certainly helpful.
