In 1800's Wyoming a dozen men stood in the pouring rain as the body of Ryan Chandler, foreman of Branson Cattle Company is put into the muddy ground. Branson Manager Walt Selby is trying to calm the troubled waters but one man will not be calmed. Up to now Jimmy had escaped retribution for his misbehavior because no one had died. Ryan's nineteen-year-old son, Dane Chandler will kill Ford & nothing will stop him. Law in Wyoming at that time was almost nonexistent therefore it was left up to each man to formulate his own justice & it was usually dispensed at the end of a gun barrel or a hangman's noose.Selby's daughter Carol & Dane once had marriage in their future but when Dane kills Jimmy Ford that will put him on the run. This is an example of how lives can change in the blink of an eye with one decision a person makes...many lives will change with this decision.I highly recommend this book...it's cleanly written with characters you love to love & characters you love to hate.
I would like to recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a very interesting and exciting book where the action never stops. I am finding these books to be very difficult to put down. I will be looking forward to reading the next book from this author.
As per usual Dave Fisher has produced a great western. I really like his books, and I've yet to be disappointed with any of them. I think he rates with the greats. Thank You.
This was a good book, well written and thought out. The author did a good job of describing the characters and leaving a message.
Despite a very awkward and contrived beginning (the only reason I didn't rate it a five star) this book turned into a really good read.
