Great book, I purchase this for home use. My child seems to always leave his books at school, and gives the excuse, I can't do my homework, because I forgot my book. Well, I purchased this and several other of his school books to keep at home.This is a great book, easy to understand, language is understandable for the age group, above or below. As an adult, I've even learned from it. The pages are bright, colorful, and grabs ones attention. The book teaches, that respect, caring, responsibility, fairness, courage, and honesty are the pillars that make us strong.It teaches, early civilizations, the medieval world, and the modern world. It has vocabulary words, quizzes, and more. It's a great 6th grader book, all around.
This is an especially helpful history textbook, with a great emphasis on maps to help illustrate and explain the story of humankind. It encompasses Islamic, African, Asian and Indian histories as well as European and American. The spotlights on individuals reminds us that it is people who make the events and swings of history, as well. A fine book for tutors, students and lovers of history.
We don't have textbooks to bring home from our school. This is a life saver for our homework!
