My great-granddaughter wasn't going to be able to wear her special pirate costume to school because all costumes had to be from a storybook. So we took to and found this delightful storybook. She loved Eloise and the story! How perfect. And it came so quickly she was able to have it in her pretty little hand for class. Eloise saved the day!

My daughter read through all the Eloise Level 1 series of readers a month ago, and we revisited them recently because she told me she missed stories about Eloise! Well, the actual collection of Eloise stories (not the early readers) are still beyond my five-and-a-half year old's reading ability, but these make for great entertainment and revision! In "Eloise's Pirate Adventure", Eloise plays make-believe as a pirate and has lots of fun doing so. The story captures Eloise's fun-loving nature and the illustrations enhance the text. Typical of level one readers, this book has slightly more challenging vocabulary, e.g. "wiggle", "patch", "treasure", etc. and longer sentence structure. Young children who love Eloise and her adventures will adore this series of early readers.

Doesn't really capture Eloise's personality like the originals, and doesn't cover the back story of why Eloise is living at the Plaza Hotel, but I suppose we shouldn't be encouraging small children to put pet turtles down the mail slot. Good illustrations, held the attention of my 3 year-old grandson.

Adorable. My 3 year old loves it. Eloise is searching for the treasure in the Plaza Hotel. Will she find it?

My daughter absolutely loves loves loves this book! We can now recite it without the text.
