These lessons are ideal for a small church. It's easy to use and includes songs, crafts, and stories. I hate spending a fortune on curriculum packets- this is affordable, great content, and the kids like it. The best thing about it is that one books lasts an entire year. The only thing I wish is that they made a book that also worked for small churches with kids of all ages in one class. I feel like there are probably a lot of churches out there like that, and it would be good if they had curriculum to meet those needs.
We teach a Sunday school class of 4-8 year olds, and we've been very happy with the lesson plans in this book. There is usually more than enough material for each week, so pick and choose what fits our class best. Definitely recommend it.
All of the 'Route 52' books that our Sunday School has tried are excellent. They go "through the Bible" in a year (52 weeks) with age appropriate lessons. The different books take slightly different approaches to the "through the Bible" concept. This allows the series to be used over and over without the kids being bored as they move from one to the next. Plus there are a lot of reproducible pages so the books can be reused from year-to-year - especially nice for small churches on tight budgets!
I love this book! I have about 12 kids in my Sunday school class and this book is wonderful! Everything you need for each lesson is right there. You've got activities, crafts, games, etc corresponding to the lesson. I also really like that it's focused on the person, character traits of the person, and also how to we can apply to traits to daily life. I highly recommend this book!
This is a great tool to teach our children about people in the bible. The stories are easy to understand and the children love the craft ideas. Great book.
