The publisher jumps through too many books while remaining on one story for too many lessons. Would have prefered it cover more of the Old Testament. Will work for certain times of the year, but does not flow well for a "through the Bible" curriculum.
The format of this book seems to be a little wordy for me. I decided to keep it and use some of the ideas that are set forth but this probably will not be a "go-to" book for me. Maybe my mind will change.
We love the lesson material, however, this book is not perforated which makes it very difficult to copy the student pages that we have permission to reproduce.
I use all the Route 52 books for our Children's ministry. The lessons are fantastic. The stories are very age appropriate and involved. On Easter we act out the scene where Jesus walks through town and the people lay palm branches and their coats out in front for him to walk on. I was a donkey (optional - if you have a strong back). The kids took turns riding on my back pretending to be Jesus. The crafts and stories are fun and memorable. The first year on this book can be labor intensive, getting materials needed, but once you have everything, the successive years are a breeze. Definitely worth the work!
