Pros--Lots of hands-on activities-Only one-two pages to make copies of each week-Really does work well with all ages in one groupCons---A lot of supplies to gather for each lesson--Difficult to divide into smaller groups: We like to have an "All-together" curriculum because we have 16 kids in our Sunday School and they aren't all always there. We can rotate teachers a little more easily by having one teacher and one aide each week. BUT when they are all there, it's nice to be able to split them into two groups and this isn't very easily adaptable for that. It would be just two groups doing basically the same thing.That said, I have had so much fun teaching using this book. The kids really seem to enjoy the lessons also. I feel that there are less discipline problems because of the variety activities and the smooth flow of the lessons.
My Wednesday night supper "Kid's Community" has really enjoyed lessons that I've presented from this book. It is incredibly helpful, interactive, and just plain fun! No more spending time I do not have to gather ideas for a cohesive lesson. It's all here. My children are learning so much about the life and times of Moses - from five year olds to fifth graders. We all give it five thumbs up!
All Together Now: 13 Sunday School Lessons (Fall) by Lois Keffer is a great resource when teaching a group of kids with varying ages. We are using it in our Children's Church. It has enough things to keep a large group of kids busy for an hour!
My favorite lesson book from Lois Keffer. This book made me to buy His every serise of kids' sunday school lessons. I built huge exodus stage at the beginning of series and it destroyed in two weeks because of excited kids. Yes. Kids went crazy with this lesson. Highly recommanded.
