My almost-three-year-old loves this book and has asked for it at least once a day since I got it. My little one loves the rhyme and the pictures, and I love the message of gratitude throughout the book. I was afraid some of the trendy slang (like "epic brekkie") was confuse her, but she things it's funny. But Americans, take note: This book is written by a Brit, and a couple of the lines only rhyme if you have a British accent. Also, there are a few words like "dungarees" that are also very British. My advice? Get the book and be prepared to put on your best British accent imitation when you read it to your kids. This book is such a great read. Eric Says Thanks is a great way to teach your children about gratitude and how many people there are to thank along the way. But truly to thank Him for all He provides.My girl (age 6) gave it two thumbs up! 😊 She truly got the message.
I just got the book yesterday and have read it several time with my 4 and 7 yr olds. The art is great, and the rhythm of the story is fun. And best of all is the emphasis on thanking others AND God for our blessings. We love it!
Eric Says Thanks by Dai Hankey is such a cute story about a young boy's adventure around town to find who to thank for his breakfast. He discovers that it is God that gives us good gifts, including toast! My son and I enjoy reading this book together, and would definitely recommend it to others!
