Great story for teaching kids about thoughtful kindness and friendship. One kind deed triggers a chain of sweet kindnesses expressed. Instead of focusing on what not to do, the story inspires positive things to do in a variety of situations. I also love that the artwork is not predominantly black or white children, promoting healthy social thought.
We bought this book a few weeks ago at Willow Creek and have read it multiple times each day since. Our 3-year old son loves it and we do too. It shows kids performing simple, kind actions that kids can repeat easily. Our 3-year old has shared things several times with his younger brother and said things like, "I shared like the bus book says." Any book that leads to that reaction is pretty good in my opinion.
This book was suggested by the company that published the curriculum for our coming VBS at church. I look forward to using it with the preschoolers!
I love the message of book and my daughter has it memorized, we read it so much. It's very melodic and has a biblical message.
