Once again, I am amazed at the fun and surprising facts that this father-and-son writing team have unearthed! Who knew so much happened while you snoozed the night away? This would make a fantastic gift for both children AND their financially strapped teachers! It would be in constant demand in a classroom library.
This fun book makes it easy for kids and adults to learn something new. There are some amazing things happen only at night. Who knew there was a vampire flying frog that changes its color, only after dark? This is a great book for the whole family to enjoy.
Once again, Matt and Steve Murrie have found a way to make learning fun! Each page of this book features a different piece of information about something that happens during the 8 hours we sleep. In categories such as Space, Nature, and The Human Body, the authors share fun facts about the world around us. A perfect holiday gift for young and old!
Once again the Murries have hit a home run. This book is an interesting collection of facts and narratives to get you talking. As Head of School for a private elementary school I always recommend their work, especially for those students who have not yet developed a love of reading. I would encourage you to get a copy for any student in your family--but be prepared to let them tell you about what they learned! They always seem to want to talk about the new learning that has taken place!!!
Recently I shared this book with a high school math class, reading aloud one of the selections. A young man in the front row said, "Let me see that..I love those books!" He didn't know about the publication of While You Were Sleeping and indicated he wanted to get it. As an adult I enjoyed perusing the fun and interesting facts in While You Were Sleeping. I think the short and well written selections should appeal to many young readers, including those who lack reading confidence or motivation.
More fun facts to ponder. Filled with thought provoking and educational information for young and old alike. A great gift idea!
I just got my hands on this book yesterday. While younger people will enjoy these fun facts, I know adults as well will have fun learning a lot from this book. It's a must have.
