Easy read. Strong, independent woman who followed her heart rather than accept an easier life with a man she didn't love, overcoming prejudices. Thought the story was much to short. Would have liked more on how she and her daughter adjusted to their new lives, or even a continued book. But I thought well worth the read.
Sadie and her daughter Violet are lost without her husband Thomas who was killed in a logging accident. She moved in with her aunt and uncle but she needs to help them with expenses but cannot find a job. She answered an ad to marry but when she got out west to her groom he married someone else. She gets a job at the mercantile and meets an Indian named Dakota, and feels something for him. You will enjoy this story and how trouble can occur with the talk of a few men.
I enjoy reading about the hardships and loves, when very brave people moved west to build new homes and towns. Life was so hard compared to current times but family and helping neighbors when in need, were most important.
The dialog was stilted. There was talk of how an interracial relationship would not be a good idea, but no reasons were given. The h had the maturity of a twelve year old. The silly title (like the titles of this author's other books) is a good indicator of the quality of this story. I think she has potential because it didn't drag so that I couldn't finish it and it was an actual romance unlike many I have unwittingly downloaded that were sold under the guise of romance and turned out to be nothing but smut porn. I hope she will continue to learn and improve on her efforts. While I would not recommend this book, I applaud Ms. Morgan for her courage and determination to go after her dreams.
I felt the main characters were not fully described, and it seemed to be rushed through. I would recommend this story to the readers wanting a quick read.
It was good. Very nice story. I was expecting something different but was pleasantly surprised of the story line. Very nice ending.
This is a heartwarming story about two people from different cultures. They have to deal with prejudice as they become a couple.
