For a long time I felt like doctrine didn't matter so much as long as you have a saving relationship with Christ. I'm starting to see that WHAT we believe about God is as important as believing.
I have always misunderstood the issue of covenants and curses. This book is a must read for all who want to know about the everlasting covenant that protects us against ancestral curses.
This is a concise book, presenting the basic tenets of Covenant Theology. Be informed about Theology, whether it is the one you submit to, or not.
Concise, easy to understand explanation of covenant theology. The book helps me unpack the scriptures and identify the latest fad doctrines. Although I am not a fan of Calvin, I have come to respect and appreciate JI Packer's works
This was good but not the smoothest reading for me when compared with other titles I have read by Packer. I thought this was good but I still need further clarification to understand Covenant Theology. For the price of this book I have no complaints, I just did not find it as helpful as I thought it would be.
A very objective overview of a controversial theological movement I've been involved in for over 40 years. The things we got right and the extremely improper use of the pastoral gift from men who had no gifting in that element.
Short read that introduces one to the basics of covenant theology. I would say this book will wet the whistle of one new to covenant theology. Though very short, Packer beautifully argues for the covenantal framework that is revealed in the Bible.
This very short read is a good introduction to covenant theology. It does not go deep into the different covenants and how they are supported by scripture, but it is worth the read. This is an appetizer for something more comprehensive
