Nominee: 2017 PNBA Book Awards When Ethan looks under the bed for his monster, he finds this note instead: “So long, kid. Gotta go. Someone needs me more than you do. –Gabe” How will Ethan ever get to sleep without his monster’s familiar, comforting snorts? And who could need Gabe more than Ethan does? Gabe must have gone to Ethan’s little sister’s room! She has been climbing out of bed every night to play, and obviously needs a monster to help her get to sleep – but not HIS monster! Ethan tries to help his sister find her own monster, but none are the perfect blend of cute and creepy. Just when it seems that Ethan will lose his monster forever, an uninvited, tutu-toting little monster full of frightening fun appears. Following in the spooky-silly tradition of I Need My Monster, here’s another irresistible monster-under-the-bed story with the perfect balance of giggles and shivers.

My 3 year old daughter absolutely LOVES this book, and I even enjoy reading it! It's about a brother who wants his monster back who's been taken by his little sister. It's cute, it's funny and being the parent you get to make a whole lot of funny sounds, voices and roars. My daughter giggles like crazy when I do the monster with a stuffed up nose. There are plenty of gorgeous pictures for you child to look at as well as plenty of reading in this one. I've been asked to read it multiple times and it's so interesting I'm still not bored of it! Highly recommend to little monster lovers =)

Just as good as the first book, "I Need My Monster". A funny way of looking at monsters under the bed. My Father's, and my son's favorite monster book. The illustrations are great, and add to the "fear" of the monsters.

I read the first book over and over to my son so it is a big favorite here. We both love the illustrator and his dragon story. The sequel is delightful and just as charming as the first one. Now there is a little sister in the mix which made my daughter very happy. The little sister is a very brave little girl and not at all bothered by the monsters which was adorable. There are a lot of parallels to the first book with the note and one of the rejected monsters from the first book. You can't go wrong with this one.

This book is just plain fun. Ethan finds a note under his bed instead of his monster. He's gone to help someone else who needs a monster to stay in bed - his little sister, Emma. Ethan knows that Emma gets up at night and plays, but he doesn't want to give up his monster, Gabe, even though he's afraid of him. He needs the fear of his monster to sleep at night. Ethan is determined to find another monster for Emma, so Gabe agrees to give him 3 tries. Unfortunately it seems that no monster will be able to scare Emma into sleeping.I love any book that takes the fear of the dark or fear of monsters and makes it into something fun instead. This book, which I didn't realize was a sequel, does just that. It gives a reason for monsters being under the bed, and makes it something necessary instead of something scary. And the illustrations and the sibling element make it even more enjoyable. I have already reserved the first book, I Need My Monster, from the library. This book has quite a lot of words, so I'd say it's best suited for ages 3-6.[...]

This was the perfect book for my grandson. He loves the first books do is now expecting a baby sister. I am sure they will have many hours of enjoyment from this book. We've read it several times a day already!

This book is great. Please please go online and look at storylineonline by the Screen Actors Guild. Rita Moreno reads the first book "I Need My Monster" and does an AMAZING job! Both my kids absolutely fell in love with that online version of the book and its free! She brings the book to life in a way I could never do!
