This is perhaps my favorite book. The poems by Helen Steiner Rice are extraordinary, and the art work by John Ruthven is beautiful. I personally have given so many copies away, and then I buy another copy, and see a friend that could benefit from the book that I give it away, and then buy another copy for myself. The book shares the Heart of Saint Francis of Assisi, and brings you to a quiet and loving place that brings you peace.
I bought An instrument of your peace; prayers of St. Francis is Assisi, at the request of a friend. She had encountered it in a Bible study class and was so taken by the beauty of the book, as well as the prayers of St. Francis. It is a beautiful read and lovelu possession.
All christians should consider purchasing this poem book. It is truly an uplifting experience. The book can be read in church, for weddings, for funerals or just because at home. Purchase it and enjoy the great writings of Helen Steiner Rice.

I used this book and cd in a Christmas program I gave for the residents of the assisted living where I work.They were all moved by it words.
