I've done my best to keep this a spoiler-free, short review -- the equivalent of the blurb on a book's back cover.A Silent Voice is the translation of the Japanese manga series 聲の形 (romaji: Koe no Katachi). The subject matter involves a deaf student, and some idiosyncrasies used to convey deaf communication translated extremely well to English written text. At some points it is as if you can hear what deaf people experience. You don't need to like manga to appreciate A Silent Voice, but you do need to read the books in order. You can expect romantic tension and strong emotional connections with the characters. The story concerns a protagonist who made some poor decisions as a child (what child doesn't make poor decisions?) that had repercussions, even if he doesn't fully realize their weight. If you decide to give it a shot, you'll be glad you checked it out, and sad when it's over. If you love manga, or if you've never read manga; if you love emotional moments in movies, or if you want to begin to understand the emotional side of yourself; if you've been bullied, or if you've been the bully: this manga series is for you.A Silent Voice 1A Silent Voice 2A Silent Voice 3

The moments with Shoko and Shoya showing their feelings at the bridge were very intense that had been building up. I liked the artwork of Shoko telling him what she was going to do on the balcony, Pages 30 and 31 show her expressions really well. During this time Shoya will tell Shoko something that he's been trying to tell her for a long time and Shoko will understand that Shoya really wants her in his life.Naoka will leave quite a unforgettable mark on the story when she surprises Shoya with things he didn't know about. She will be honest and intelligent with everything she tells him. Naoka will tell Shoya something very important that she promised not to ever tell him and goes ahead and does because it needs to be told. This will make you love the story even more when Naoka tells about how good the past was when she and Shoya were friends along with Kazuki and Keisuke. You can see Oima Yoshitoki's eyes and appearance through Naoka.Shoya's been trying to find out what those three souvenirs are that look like two cats and a rabbit that Shoko had surprised him with back in volume 3. I have been thinking about this for a long time because i think i know what it means. Shoko will tell him what they are used for but thats not the reason why she brought them. I think the three souvenirs meant Shoko wanted a family with Shoya.I loved reading all 7 volumes of this heartfelt story. Shoko and Shoya became much stronger and closer than they did in the beginning. Shoya now talks to people at school without fear. Shoko enjoys life more and has learned to laugh when she needs to and was able to overcome all the pain and become friends with Shoya, Who abused her. Yuzuru changed because of Shoya and now he's more of a father to her than a friend.
