This book is just a matter of tracing each letter a few times, and then writing it over and over on some blank lines. There is also a small section on writing basic numbers. No exercises, activities, etc.I just wanted my son to practice his hand-writing, so this was fine with us, but if you are expecting anything else, look at something like Lowercase Alphabet or Kumon: My First Book of Lowercase Letters.

I used this for my oldest and bought again for my middle child. I LOVE that the book goes in order from the letter easiest to write (l) to the hardest ones (q). The example and practice ones are easy for my kid to understand how to make the letter even if I am not standing there watching them. I used this for homeschool preschool.

My kids have always loved these. The letters are big and there are fewer on the page so if they are very young but have the desire to learn to write it is easier for them to give it a try. I love the colors and that the book is very sturdy. win win

This book is perfect for our needs. My daughter will be entering kindergarten in the fall and she still prefers uppercase letter writing, so this book will help her become more comfortable and confident with lowercase writing. The book doesn't present the letters in alphabetical order, it starts with the easiest letter to write first, such as 'l' then 't' the 'f' etc. It presents each letter on two pages with tracing exercises on the first page then a 'write on your own' section. It also has cute pictures with the corresponding letter-word underneath to help letter recognition and phonics/reading practice. The book then has several pages of review for all the letters in alphabetical order then goes through the numbers 1-10. It even has a certificate at the end to celebrate their achievement. I really like this book. My daughter does 2 letters in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. I think I will be ordering this book again to further hone her abilities.
