This study guide on Romans has some excellent aspects and some very poor aspects; hence 3 stars. The excellent parts of the guide are the explanatory paragraphs at the end of each chapter called the Gospel Glimpses, Whole-Bible Connections, and Theological Soundings. These paragraphs explain clearly and briefly the important teachings in each portion of Scripture. The very poor parts of the study are the questions in each lesson. As the leader of the study group, I was very disappointed that most of the questions totally omitted the critically important doctrines and teachings in Romans. So if you choose this study guide on Romans, be prepared to write your own questions or heavily supplement the questions in the guide.
Using it in a Bible study at my house and it has great questions that point to the main point of the text. The three articles at the end of each section also help keep it all in context of the overall story line of the Bible
This is a very good basic study of one of the most important books of the Bible. Romans was written to Christians living in a pagan society much as America is becoming. A must read to strengthen your faith in the days to come.
Really sound teaching. Enjoyed the definition of words at the end of each chapter. It helped while studying the Scripture.
I have all ways enjoyed reading romans , since I have been doing the studythe Lord has opened my eyes to areas I need to work on. I have learned so muchabout my past that has been holding me back. The questions really make you think.
The commentary is better than that of the Psalms book in the same series. The questions often require very little thought from the reader.
Very good guide. Easy to use yet gets you digging deep.
